Neurotherapeutics, the journal of the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics (ASENT), began publication in January 2004. Each issue provides critical reviews focused on a single important topic relating to the treatment of neurological disorders. Alan I. Faden, M.D., Editor-in-Chief of Neurotherapeutics

Dr. Faden is Professor of Neuroscience, Neurology and Pharmacology at Georgetown University. He has served as the Founding Director of the Georgetown Institute for Cognitive and Computational Sciences, as well as the first Dean for Research and Scientific Director at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Faden has published more than 300 research publications in areas relating to central autonomic regulation, neuronal cell death, central nervous system injuries and neuroprotection. He is President of the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics (ASENT).

Rohit Bakshi, M.D., F.A.A.N., Associate Editor of of Neurotherapeutics

Dr. Bakshi is Associate Professor of Neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Partners Multiple Sclerosis Center, and the Center for Neurological Imaging. He has pursued studies using quantitative neuroimaging funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation, and National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He received the 1998 William H. Oldendorf Award for neuroimaging research. He is the President of the American Society of Neuroimaging, a member of the American Neurological Association, and has achieved Fellow status in the American Academy of Neurology. He has authored more than 110 peer reviewed articles and is a member of the ASENT Board of Directors.

Michael A. Rogawski, M.D., Ph.D., Associate Editor of Neurotherapeutics

Dr. Rogawski is Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurology, University of California - Davis.  He is the author of numerous research articles and scholarly reviews on ion channel pharmacology and antiepileptic drugs. He has received the Epilepsy Research Award from the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and the NIH Director’s Award. Dr. Rogawski is a member of the American Neurological Association and has been a member of the scientific advisory board of CURE – Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy. He is a member of the ASENT Board of Directors.

 

The distinguished Editorial Board of Neurotherapeutics reflects the unique partnership involving academic medicine, the pharmaceutical industry and government. Along with the Publications Oversight Committee, their editorial input will ensure that the Journal content is comprehensive and current.
