Large Pharmaceutical Organization Our client, a technology-driven, global healthcare company that develops and commercializes specialty pharmaceutical products for pain and movement disorders, eye care, and dermatological markets is currently seeking a Senior Medical Director for their clinical research area. This billion-dollar company is committed to its Research and Development function and has demonstrated this by increasing this department’s headcount nearly 30% during the last three years. Responsible for overseeing a staff of research professionals and providing leadership to project teams, the Senior Medical Director of Clinical Research will help direct the global development of new clinical indications and will ensure that scientifically valid and legally acceptable clinical studies are performed in accordance with the GCP/ICH guidelines and regulatory agencies. This individual will represent the organization as an expert in directing clinical research programs in a therapeutic area to outside companies, regulatory agencies and professional societies to assure a high level of communication. He/she will possess competency, understanding and experience in all medical aspects of clinical development including: protocol design; clinical trial implementation; management and monitoring; final study, report preparation; and review preparation for regulatory submission and interaction with regulatory authorities. The successful candidate must have notable experience in clinical research, strong analytical, managerial and communication skills with significant accomplishments of a scientific/technical nature. He/she must have the ability to act effectively as a key liaison externally with investigators, opinion leaders and scientific groups. An M.D./ D.O degree is required.
